I love kombucha. But what if it’s not in your fridge? And what if you’re not willing to fork over those hard-earned 5 bucks for a 16 oz bottle? My answer to this vexing issue is: Fauxbucha! This super-easy-to-make concoction tastes like kombucha, offers probiotic pearls, is good for you, and you can make it at a fraction of the price. What are you waiting for?!

16 oz. water

1 thumb-sized chunk of raw ginger

¼ cup apple cider vinegar*

1 tsp honey or a little stevia (you don’t need much!) to taste



  1. * Be sure the apple cider vinegar has a “mother” in it to give you some probiotic goodness. Braggs is a brand I recommend.
  2. Peel & dice ginger.
  3. Put all ingredients in a blender; Blend at high speed around 30 seconds.
  4. Revise ingredients according to taste.
  5. Garnish.
