A Dietitian Roadmap To Functional Nutrition
Tuesday January 8th, 2019 1pm (Pacific) / 4pm (Eastern)
Description: Functional nutrition is an approach that focuses not only on addressing the root cause of disease and restoring function to the body but on the importance of considering all aspects of an individual’s lifestyle, biology, and diet when providing care.
This presentation will touch on both the history and current status of the functional medicine movement and highlight how exploring sleep, GI function, stress levels, environment, and genetic variability, as well as emotional and mental health, is essential to the nutrition care process.
As the nutrition health culture shifts towards a more personalized approach, RDN’s are set up to be at the forefront of providing integrative and individualized nutritional counseling that may make a difference in improving the current healthcare system.
